Why a Manager Needs a Strong Portrait
As a manager, you’re the face of your team—and often of your company as well. Your photo appears on LinkedIn, on the website’s executive page, in press releases, in speaker bios, and in the annual report. People who don’t know you yet will form their first impression based on that single photo.
A snapshot or a cropped group photo simply doesn’t do you justice. A professional portrait shows that you take your role seriously and immediately gives clients, partners, and new employees a face to go with your name. You can see what that looks like in practice in our story about a business portrait for a CEO. You can read why it carries so much weight in A good profile photo: Why is it so important?
What a Manager's Profile Should Convey
A good portrait of a leader strikes a balance between authority and approachability. You want to come across as reliable and confident, without seeming aloof. People want to see that you can make decisions, but also that they can turn to you for help.
That balance lies in the details: a gaze that shows just a little more warmth, a posture that radiates calm, a slight smile—or the absence of one. Kwinten specializes in microexpressions and body language. Together with Tine, he observes your facial expressions and posture during the shoot and coaches you until your best self shines through. Headshot, bust portrait, or in your work environment?
The type of portrait you need depends on where you'll use it:
- Headshot for LinkedIn, your email signature, and internal tools: a close-up where your face and your gaze do the work.
- Bust Portrait For the website, press releases, and speaker bios: more space, more presence, and an image that remains impactful even when enlarged.
- Portrait in Your Workplace For annual reports, interviews, and the website: at your office or on the job site, so that the visuals align with your corporate identity. See also corporate photography.
For a profile photo, we intentionally keep the background simple so that all the attention is on you. You can find practical tips on clothing, framing, and expression in our 12 Tips for a Better Professional Profile Photo.

Here's how a photo shoot works with us
We’ll start with a conversation: what will you use the photos for, and what message do you want them to convey? You’ll receive advice on what to wear, and if you’d like, a makeup artist will be available. During the shoot, you’ll get guidance on your posture and gaze, and we’ll review the results together right away so we can make targeted adjustments. Explained step by step in our method. You can find all the information and prices on our page Portraits for Managers.
A very pleasant experience with a personal touch. The initial conversation about the purpose of the business portrait immediately created an open atmosphere where time was taken to get to know each other and discuss my preferences.

The entire executive team in one style
Is the entire management team featured on the website? If so, a consistent style works best: the same background, the same lighting, and the same framing—even if not everyone can come in on the same day. We can do this at our studio in Willebroek or at your office. Check out our team headshots, and read why a series of portraits like this can ‘About Us’ page makes you stronger.

For our corporate photos at Altrex, we worked with Fotostudio Kwinten. The collaboration went very smoothly: Kwinten immediately puts you at ease, works efficiently, and exudes professionalism. This created a relaxed atmosphere during the shoot, which is clearly reflected in the results.
