Across generations

The birth of a first grandchild or even great-grandchild often makes people think. Suddenly, family history comes back to life. Old stories are recounted, and yellowed photos of grandparents and great-grandparents are brought out again.

Whereas today we are inundated with digital images that we forget with a swipe, photography used to be something very deliberate. A grand moment that you planned, experienced, and cherished.

That is how they want to be remembered themselves.
Photo generations on the wall

This was also the case with Lisa and her mother Gerda. When Lisa's daughter Juliette was born, stories from the past resurfaced. They did not want to let those stories disappear. At that moment, there was something special: four generations, a newborn baby, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother in one room. This had to be recorded.

However, they wanted to go one step further. So we searched for and found a fun way to bring together seven generations. By adding old portraits of deceased grandmothers, we managed to make each woman in the photo visible alongside her grandmother. Seven women, seven generations, connected in one image.

A little unusual, but oh so beautiful...

We also thought it was a good moment to portray the older generation in a loving way.

Because, as Lisa herself so beautifully put it:

“Our Grandma and Grandpa may be a little older, but they are still in great shape.

If anything ever happens to them, we want to remember them as they are now. And above all, that is how they want to be remembered.”

Want to immortalize your four generations too?

A four-generation photo shoot is something exceptional and unique. During a four-generation photo shoot, we may also take a photo of the grandparents or the youngest family. We will discuss this during the informative conversation in advance.

Our grandmother and grandfather may be a little older, but they are still in great shape.
If anything ever happens to them, we want to remember them as they are now. And above all: that is how they themselves want to be remembered.
